Orchards Staff Bios
Administrator Avasha Gonzalez
Avasha began working in Senior living in 1993 and has spent her career in many capacities including med tech/caregiver, Health Care Coordinator, Memory Care Administrator and most recently as our Administrator.
Avasha lives in Central Point with her two daughters. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her girls hanging out and shopping. She is an avid sports fan, enjoying baseball, football and basketball, especially when her daughter is playing!
Registered Nurse Christine Crownover
Christine has worked in the medical field since 1992. Christine has worked in the role of an EMT, EMT II, Paramedic, and became an RN in 2010. Christine recently received her para-medical esthetics license, and she loves being able to help people feel good about themselves. Christine appreciates to be around people from all walks of life. Christine enjoys traveling and learning new things. Christine also likes riding and building pro street special construction motorcycles. Christine says that her children and grandchildren are the highlight of her life.
Health Care Director Lei Sale
Lei Sale was born and raised on the beautiful island of American Samoa. She began working in the healthcare industry 8 years ago, starting out as a caregiver, transitioning to Med Tech for 4 years, Staffing and now currently our Health Care Director. She puts God first in everything she does and is very family oriented. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her son, hiking and singing.
Social Services Director Lori Rockholt
Lori Rockholt has been working in the Healthcare field for 13 years. Lori has worked in both assisted living and memory care as a CNA, caregiver, and med tech. Lori graduated college as an Administrative Medical Assistant from Western Business College. Lori started her career at the Orchards as a Med Tech and worked her way up to the Social Services position. Lori enjoys reading novels, crochet, and spending time near bodies of water. Lori’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her family, Lori helps take care of her parents and is still enjoying raising her 3 boys.
Dietary Manager Jessica Worrell
Jessica was born in Alaska and moved to Oregon when she was 5 years old. Jessica started her career in dietary services in 2002. She says she was mentored by Dietary Managers that took the time to teach her while she was in other dining services roles.
Jessica enjoys being outdoors with her children, especially at the river. Jessica says she collects rocks among other neat things.
Jessica said the best thing about working in senior living is hearing the residents reminisce about the “good old days”.
Maintenance Director Tom Houston
Tom is from western New York State. Tom has over 40 years’ experience in maintenance, process engineering, and over 1000 hours of training in all aspects of leadership/communication.
Tom is married with three children and 4 great grandchildren. Tom is an amateur chef and self-proclaimed “foodie”. He loves the outdoors and going fishing. Tom is an avid motorcyclist.
Tom says he came to work in assisted living for personal and professional reasons. Tom appreciates the new challenges that have been personally and professionally rewarding. One of Tom’s favorite quotes is “Life is good enjoy the moment”.
Activity Director Sarah Pierce
Sarah joined the Orchards community in 2019 and has brought incredible energy and zest for life. She has been an integral part of maintaining a positive and joyful spirit for the residence through multiple types of activities, outings and one on one time. Sarah was born in Riverside California and moved to Medford Oregon in 2006 when she was 8 years old.
She enjoys spending her summer days at the Illinois River, and up in Mount Ashland during the winter. Sarah’s creative and warm hearted personality is a welcome addition to the Orchards.
Nursing Service Emma Taliaferro
Emma grew up in the magical city of New Orleans. The family raised and trained appaloosa horses and German shepherds.
Emma graduated from LSU in 1975 and began her career as a Registered Nurse. Emma and her daughter relocated from Louisiana to Utah.
Emma has worked in various settings as an RN. Emma’s experience includes working in the emergency room, operating room, Intensive care units, home health, and long-term care. Emma has traveled from coast to coast while gathering lift and professional experience along the journey.
Emma enjoys dog training, photography, hiking. Emma’s current position is providing nursing services at The Orchards and our sister community in Grants Pass.
